It gets so much better.
For every night you sat in your room crying to poorly written emo songs that "totally get you". There will be a night out in a club, drunkenly screaming along to the same poorly written emo songs that still get you for all the right reasons.
For every time your old psychopath teacher told you you were fat or dirty and never going to get anywhere. There will be teachers and professors that tell you they're really proud of you and really believe in what you're doing.
For every poorly dressed 16 year old emo boy that broke your heart. There will be a girls night out with people that make you happier than you ever thought you could be, without having a man in your life.
For every school lunch time that you sat on your own because your "friends" were too cool to let you sit with them. There will be free periods where your friends will force feed you Doritos and play video games with you because being cool was kind of overrated anyway.
Oh, and you never grew out of Pokemon. Bulbasaur is the best starter regardless of what Isaac says.
Some of the biggest life lessons you will ever learn are that you don't need to understand why things happen and things won't always go to plan. If you do what you want to you'll attract the right people, trust your gut and Isaac and Ross are always right. Not everyone is going to like you and that's okay. Also you're never going to get along with A-level chemistry, I'm sorry but your maths skills are poor at best.
It wasn't you that was the problem, children are mean, teenagers are worse and adults know nothing. Your skin cleared up, you lost weight, you got into university, people want to date you, and you know what? None of that is what's important. It's the really awesome shit you've done along the way and the people you've met.
Keep it up little one, you're where you're meant to be, as shit as it seems don't give up on yourself.
I'm really fricking proud of you.
